Job summary

PlanIT Group, LLC is seeking a 2nd Shift Facility Maintenance Technician (Contractor) in Chelmsford, MA to handle routine upkeep and basic repairs for plant and office facilities at the Chelmsford microelectronics site.

Shift is Monday-Thursday, 2:30 PM to 1:00 AM. Requires ability to obtain security clearance; interim clearance may start. PPE including steel toe shoes provided. Onsite, full-time, with potential extended engagement based on performance.

Qualifications

• 2+ years maintenance experience.

• Ability to obtain a security clearance is required.
• No degree required; high school diploma acceptable.
• Proficient with hand/power tools and basic electrical/mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Follow work orders and general instructions; inspect, log, and complete tasks.
• Perform routine facilities maintenance and basic equipment troubleshooting (electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing).
• Provide limited janitorial support when workload allows.
• Work onsite at Chelmsford, MA and support additional buildings as needed.

Job description

The 2ndShift Facility Maintenance Technician (Contractor) provides general upkeep and basic repairs for plant and office facilities, primarily at the Chelmsford microelectronics manufacturing site, while also supporting additional buildings as needed.

Working the M-TH 2nd shift (≈2:30pm-1am), this position handles routine facilities issues and basic equipment troubleshooting ranging from electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing tasks.

Follows work orders and or other general instructions, conducts inspections, logs completed work, and offers limited janitorial support (e.g., trash removal, floor cleaning) when workload permits or support is required.

Qualified candidates possess a high school diploma/GED (trade certification or 1-2 years of handson maintenance experience preferred), can work independently and efficiently, demonstrate basic criticalthinking and problemsolving abilities, and are proficient with hand/power tools and basic electrical/mechanical systems.

Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lb, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces with prolonged standing, walking, bending, and kneeling.

Basic Required Qualifications

Strong performance during the initial assignment period (approximately eight months) may open the door to extended or full-time engagement with the company.

PPE in the form of steel toe shoes are required. All other PPE will be provided.
