Job summary

PlanIT Group, LLC in Andover, MA is seeking a 1stShift Facility Maintenance Technician to perform upkeep and basic repairs for plant and office facilities, primarily at the Andover site and support other buildings as needed.

The role handles routine facilities issues and basic equipment troubleshooting ranging from electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing tasks. Follows work orders, conducts inspections, logs completed work, and offers limited janitorial support when workload permits.

Qualifications

Job description

The 1stShift Facility Maintenance Technician provides general upkeep and basic repairs for plant and office facilities, primarily at the Andover facility, while also supporting additional buildings as needed. Working the M-TH 1st Shift, this position handles routine facilities issues and basic equipment troubleshooting ranging from electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing tasks. Follows work orders and or other general instructions, conducts inspections, logs completed work, and offers limited janitorial support (e.g., trash removal, floor cleaning) when workload permits or support is required.

Qualified candidates possess a high school diploma/GED (trade certification or 1-2 years of handson maintenance experience preferred), can work independently and efficiently, demonstrate basic criticalthinking and problemsolving abilities, and are proficient with hand/power tools and basic electrical/mechanical systems. Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lb, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces with prolonged standing, walking, bending, and kneeling.

Shift: Day shift, Full-Time (M-TH) 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Basic Required Qualifications

• Ability to obtain a security clearance is required. Interim clearance is required to start position
• No degree required, high school diploma okay
• 2+ years maintenance experience
• 2+ years facilities experience
• 2+ years experience with general maintenance experience

Strong performance during the initial assignment period (approximately eight months) may open the door to extended or full-time engagement with the company.

Ability to obtain a security clearance is required. Interim secret clearance required to start position. Supplier will be required to start interim clearance process at offer stage.

PPE in the form of steel toe shoes are required. All other PPE will be provided.
