Talen Energy is seeking a Maintenance Foreman - FIN at the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station near Berwick, PA. The role focuses on leading maintenance activities, ensuring timely completion, and maintaining safe, compliant operations at a major nuclear facility.

The candidate will supervise crews, develop skills, troubleshoot equipment issues, and uphold Nuclear Department goals while promoting a safe and efficient work environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a nuclear power plant.
• Ability to lead, coach and correct direct reports and peers.

Responsibilities

• Layout and implement strategies to complete work assignments per the scheduled times.
• Direct and supervise work being performed in the plant, labs, and shops by Maintenance personnel.
• Help crew members develop work related skills pertaining to their job and perform task evaluations for worker certification.
• Answer technical work-related questions to the crew.
• Develop troubleshooting plans and direct troubleshooting activities for equipment related problems in the power plant to pinpoint the exact problems.
• Enforce Nuclear Department goals and expectations.
• Provide feedback to Planning when suggesting more cost-effective work methods.
• Motivate the crew while maintaining a positive attitude and leadership presence.

Talen Energy is soliciting candidates interested in filling the position of Maintenance Foreman - FIN at the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station located near Berwick, Pennsylvania. Susquehanna Steam Electric Station, one of the largest dual-unit, Boiling Water Reactor sites in the U.S., delivers approximately 2700 MW of electricity to the grid in Northeastern Pennsylvania.

• Help crew members develop work related skills pertaining to their job and perform task evaluations for worker certification.

• Develop troubleshooting plans and direct troubleshooting activities for equipment related problems in the power plant to pinpoint the exact problems.
• Enforce Nuclear Department goals and expectations.
• Provide feedback to Planning when we see a better or more cost-effective way of performing certain jobs.
• Motivate the crew while performing tasks, keeping an open mind and good attitude towards the position.
• Maintain necessary qualifications and expertise to be able to respond and lead in plant response to upset conditions within the Nuclear Emergency Response Organization.

Minimum Requirements

High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a nuclear power plant, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and testing a wide variety of equipment typical to nuclear power generating stations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Good knowledge of the systems within a power plant.
• Good technical ability on almost all plant equipment which could break down.
• Good interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to lead, coach and correct direct reports and peers.
• Task certified on equipment being reworked; Energy Control Process certified; Emergency Plan Position certified.
