Job summary

The Engineering Team at Talen Energy in the United States seeks an enthusiastic engineer to contribute to projects across power plant disciplines. You will collaborate with other engineers to deliver technically sound, cost-efficient designs and recommendations, guided by established procedures.

You will assist in smaller projects, gather data, run diagnostics, and help develop innovative procedures while expanding your technical and business skills under supervision in a structured field

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited college or university in discipline required by specific requirements.
• Internship/Co-op in the energy industry is preferred.
• Engineer in Training certificate is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the work on smaller engineering projects or well-defined areas of larger projects.
• Use existing procedures to investigate, evaluate and assist in producing technically correct and cost-effective designs or recommendations that solve ongoing problems.
• Build relationships that facilitate knowledge transfer and cross-functional knowledge of related work groups, and present work products effectively.
• Work under supervision in the field in a variety of functions in challenging but structured work that develops competencies in the discipline.
• Gather and correlate basic engineering data using well defined engineering procedures which may include routine and diagnostic testing of components and systems, and engineering studies.
• Continually expand and improve technical and business skill set with your own initiative with instruction, guidance, and direction from others.
• Assist in a variety of topics including developing innovative procedures, improved design recommendations.
