Talen Energy seeks an engineering professional in Montana to join our collaborative team. You will work on power plant projects, applying established procedures to deliver technically sound and cost-effective recommendations that support safe, reliable operations.

The role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, data gathering, and continuous skill development, with mentoring from senior engineers to grow expertise in energy engineering and project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from ABET accredited college or university in discipline required by specific requirements.
• Engineer in Training certificate preferred.
• Internship/ co-op in the energy industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineers to complete projects in assigned areas.
• Using existing procedures to investigate, evaluate and assist in producing technically correct and cost-effective designs or recommendations.
• Building relationships that facilitate knowledge transfer and cross-functional collaboration, and presenting work products effectively.
• Working under supervision in the field across a variety of functions to develop competencies in the discipline.
• Gathering and correlating basic engineering data using well defined procedures including routine testing and engineering studies.
• Continually expanding technical and business skills with guidance from others and taking initiative to improve procedures and design.
• Assisting in topics including developing innovative procedures and improved design recommendations.

The Engineering Team at Talen Energy consist of several engineering professional in several areas of the power plant. In this role, you will work collaboratively with other engineers to complete projects in assigned areas.

• Assisting in the work on smaller engineering projects or well-defined areas of larger projects.
• Using existing procedures to investigate, evaluate and assist in producing technically correct and cost-effective designs or recommendations that solve ongoing problems.
• Building relationships that will facilitate knowledge transfer, cross functional knowledge of related work groups, and ability to present work products effectively.
• Working under supervision in the field in a variety of functions in challenging but structured work that develops competencies in the discipline.
• Gathering and correlating basic engineering data using well defined engineering procedures which may include routine and diagnostic testing of components and systems, and engineering studies.
• Continually expanding and improving technical and business skill set with your own initiative with instruction, guidance, and direction from others.
• Assisting in a variety of topics including developing innovative procedures, improved design recommendations.

What You Have Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited college or university in discipline required by specific requirements.
