Job summary

Riverhead Building Supply is seeking an Experienced Maintenance & Facilities professional to assist with upkeep across Long Island retail locations, design showrooms and lumberyards. The role involves installing and maintaining plant facilities, performing repairs, and ensuring safe, efficient operations.

The ideal candidate has a background in mechanics, plumbing, electrical and carpentry, with 2–3 years of related experience and the ability to work at multiple sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 2–3 years related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Aptitude for mechanics and machinery is required; experience in plumbing, lighting, HVAC, machinery and construction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain facility equipment and infrastructure.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of equipment.
• Read and interpret manuals and work orders to perform maintenance and service.
• Diagnose problems, replace/repair parts and test improvements.
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and facilities.
• Perform plumbing maintenance and carpentry tasks.
• Operate hand and power tools and meters; report safety issues to supervision.
