JOB SUMMARY:
Provide a clean, safe club environment by directing the installation and repair of machines, tools, equipment, and utility systems. Manage all cleaning teams to ensure smooth operation of all club areas. Oversee company operations and department personnel, motivate the team to achieve maintenance and cleaning goals, and contribute to the company's success through recruiting, training, and developing staff. Develop quality maintenance and cleaning programs and ensure excellent customer service. Enforce company policies and procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES – WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Maintain, renovate, repair, and oversee all buildings, grounds, and facility equipment, ensuring safety and compliance with current codes.
- Ensure buildings, grounds, and equipment are maintained in optimal condition to provide a safe and comfortable environment.
- Oversee preventive maintenance and cleaning programs for the facility.
- Provide professional advice to the Area Maintenance Director.
- Deliver excellent customer service to members and internal departments.
- Implement and maintain preventive maintenance programs for building and equipment.
- Manage personnel functions such as interviewing, selecting, evaluating, disciplining, and terminating staff, in collaboration with the General Manager and Area Maintenance Director.
- Ensure team members receive proper orientation and ongoing training, maintaining required certifications or licensure.
- Prioritize and schedule work requests effectively.
- Supervise major repair work and installations as needed.
- Oversee repair contract labor services to ensure compliance with contracts and regulations.
- Review specifications for major equipment and advise on purchases and installations.
- Inspect equipment and facilities to determine repair and maintenance needs.
- Manage parts inventory.
- Maintain the overall appearance of the facilities.
- Manage reports and schedules, track expenses, and establish controls.
- Adjust job responsibilities as needed.
- Counsel, plan, monitor, and appraise team results.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and professional appearance of the club and team, conducting daily walkthroughs.
- Document major equipment and building issues, solutions, and procedures; report progress to the General Manager.
- Participate in meetings and training sessions as required.
Requirements
WHO YOU ARE:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic computer skills with strong writing, spelling, and math skills.
- Experience in a service industry is a plus.
- Knowledge of and experience with managing or repairing mechanical, plumbing, electrical systems, trade work, and fitness equipment.
- Basic knowledge of equipment, building, and pool maintenance; CPO certification is a plus.
- Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, including overnight, weekends, and holidays.
- Professional, upbeat demeanor at all times.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Frequent walking and standing for up to 8 hours/day; occasional sitting. Exposure to cleaning chemicals and airborne particles, with PPE as required. Occasional use of hands for handling, reaching, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, twisting, and side-to-side movements. May occasionally lift up to 25 pounds, and rarely up to 50 pounds.
