Job summary

ZT Systems is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Lead to oversee the upkeep of a chilled water plant’s infrastructure. You will report to the Facilities Manager and ensure reliability and efficiency of operations on a day shift, with after‑hours coverage as needed.

Responsibilities include coaching maintenance staff, managing KPIs, coordinating repairs/PMs, and driving continuous improvement and capital projects within a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent education/experience.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2-5+ years of relevant work experience.
• 0-1 years of experience in maintenance leadership.
• Experience with automation and robotic recovery.
• Troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis experience.
• Team building, coaching and succession planning for technicians.
• Maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Lean manufacturing experience.
• Able to communicate in technical terms with skilled labor.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and building code.
• Basic knowledge of OSHA code.
• HVAC‑R knowledge.
• Cooling tower knowledge.
• Electrical up to 480 VAC 3‑phase.
• Basic knowledge of motor controls.
• Experience with employee portals systems (timecard and performance reviews).
• Good knowledge of CMMS systems.
• Good preventative/predictive maintenance skills.
• MS Office software applications.

About The Role

They will report to the Facilities Manager and will be responsible for the reliability and efficiency of operations. The position will be a day shift position, and responsible for after‑hours calls during the week and weekends if the need arises.

What You’ll Do

• Direct and support the maintenance staff, providing coaching and both positive and negative feedback.
• Maintain maintenance KPIs to ZT standards (MTBF, MTTR, PM completions, downtime reports, slack time reports, and project status).
• Schedule repairs and PM schedules with production leadership.
• Maintain inventory min/max levels.
• Work with mechanical contractors for rebuilds.
• Critique and improve SOPs for increasing maintenance performance.
• Manage continuous improvement and capital projects.

What You Bring

• Associate’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent combination of education and/or experience; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2‑5+ years of relevant work experience.
• 0‑1 years of experience in maintenance leadership.
• Experience with automation and robotic recovery is required.
• Experience performing troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis.

We are recruiting 1 position for each of the following shifts:
• A Shift – Sunday to Wednesday; Sunday to Tuesday – 7 a.m.–7 p.m.
• B Shift – Sunday to Wednesday; Sunday to Tuesday – 7 p.m.–7 a.m.
• D Shift – Thursday to Saturday; Wednesday to Saturday – 7 p.m.–7 a.m.
