Bimbo QSR Chicago LLC is seeking an experienced Maintenance & Engineering Supervisor to lead a maintenance team ensuring safety, reliability, and optimal performance of bakery equipment and plant systems. • 2+ years in leadership or supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Working knowledge of CMMS systems, equipment schematics, and technical manuals.
• Familiarity with GMPs and OSHA safety standards.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work varied shifts, weekends, or emergencies as needed.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the schedule and daily activities of maintenance technicians, mechanics, and leads.
• Provide coaching, training, and support to develop individual and team capabilities.
• Assign and monitor work orders, ensuring timely and high-quality execution.
• Facilitate effective communication between shifts and departments to maintain continuous operations.
• Conduct performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and team meetings as needed.
• Oversee preventative and corrective maintenance for bakery production equipment and utilities (HVAC, refrigeration, boilers, pneumatics, hydraulics).
• Monitor and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, PLC, and control systems issues.
• Ensure repairs align with safety, quality, and production goals.
• Support continuous improvement, equipment upgrades, and new installations.
• Enforce safety standards (GMPs, OSHA) and lead safety audits.
• Oversee CMMS for scheduling, logging, and tracking maintenance tasks.
• Manage spare parts inventory and ordering processes with accurate usage tracking.
• Support data-driven decisions through documentation and reporting.
• Plan, prioritize, and coordinate resources for projects and downtime responses.
• Collaborate with production, sanitation, and quality teams to align maintenance with priorities.
• Identify areas for improvement and implement downtime-reduction solutions.

Job Overview:

Experienced and hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to lead our maintenance team in ensuring the safety, reliability, and optimal performance of bakery equipment and plant systems. Key Responsibilities:

Operations & Equipment Management

• Ensure all repairs and maintenance activities are aligned with safety, quality, and production goals.

Safety & Compliance

• Enforce adherence to all company and OSHA safety standards, GMPs, and PPE requirements.
• Lead and participate in safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
• Ensure tools, equipment, and the maintenance shop are safely maintained and organized.

CMMS & Inventory Control

• Oversee the effective use of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for scheduling, logging, and tracking maintenance tasks.
• Manage spare parts inventory, ordering processes, and ensure accurate usage tracking .
• Support data-driven decisions through accurate documentation and reporting of maintenance activities.

Project Coordination

• Plan, prioritize, and coordinate resources for projects and unplanned downtime responses.
• Collaborate with production, sanitation, and quality teams to align maintenance with operational priorities.
• Identify areas for improvement and implement solutions that reduce downtime and increase reliability.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification preferred.
• 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or bakery environment, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems .
