Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Maintenance Engineer in Columbus, GA to ensure reliability, performance, and safety of production equipment and facility systems. You will troubleshoot, plan preventive maintenance, and support capital projects in a 2-2-3 shift environment.

Required are a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2–5 years of industrial maintenance experience, with hands-on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and PLC skills. CMMS experience is essential for documenting work orders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years of maintenance engineering or industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems (rotating equipment, drives) and electrical systems (power distribution, control circuits).
• Hands-on with hydraulics and pneumatics in industrial equipment.
• Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing production equipment in an industrial setting.
• Experience with preventive maintenance and maintenance repair on industrial machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting in manufacturing.
• CMMS experience MP2 or Maintenance Connection.
• Familiarity with industrial automation and control systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure reliability, performance, and safety of production equipment and facility systems across the plant.
• Support daily maintenance operations by diagnosing issues, troubleshooting equipment problems, and performing repairs.
• Plan, schedule, and execute preventive and predictive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
• Support capital equipment projects by providing technical input and commissioning new machinery.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and automation systems.
• Read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, blueprints, and manuals to identify faults.
• Perform PLC troubleshooting to diagnose control system issues.
• Use CMMS to document work orders and track maintenance history.
• Contribute to continuous improvement to enhance equipment performance and reliability.
• Maintain safety and quality standards in all maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with production to minimize downtime and ensure efficient operations.
• Provide coverage on 2-2-3 shift schedule (first/second) as needed.
