Job summary

Kern Energy is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to lead refinery maintenance projects and turnarounds for safe and reliable operation. The role emphasizes adherence to PSM/MOC, API, NFPA, ASME, OSHA standards, and continuous improvement through performance metrics.

The candidate will plan scopes, manage budgets, coordinate across multiple departments, and ensure timely commissioning with proper documentation in CMMS. Nights/weekends and on-call may be required during turnarounds.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3 to 10 years experience in Refining or a closely related field.
• Familiarity with PSM/MOC, API, NFPA, ASME, OSHA and related regulations.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage refinery maintenance projects and turnarounds.
• Develop scopes of work, requests for quotations, AFEs, and cost estimates.
• Schedule, budget, forecast, and track project progress and costs.
• Coordinate with operations, environmental, and inspection departments.
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
• Provide daily progress updates and post-turnaround analyses.
• Utilize CMMS to generate work orders and document activity.
• Interface with vendors, contractors, and material procurement.
