Job summary

Colgate-Palmolive is seeking a Maintenance Engineer in Sanford, Maine, to drive reliability and performance across production, utilities, and facility equipment. You will design proactive maintenance strategies, analyze data to reduce downtime, and lead CI initiatives that improve site safety and efficiency.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and 3+ years in maintenance or plant engineering, with hands-on CMMS/SAP experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field.
Minimum of 3 years of maintenance, reliability, or plant engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
Hands-on experience managing preventive maintenance programs using SAP or equivalent Enterprise Asset Management (EAM)/CMMS systems.

Responsibilities

Lead site-wide proactive maintenance programs using CMMS to optimize equipment reliability, reduce unplanned downtime, and enforce EHS and product quality compliance.
Drive continuous improvement (CI) initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and TPM to increase packaging line efficiency and yield.
Manage FMEA and RCM processes to refine preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
Implement predictive maintenance technologies, including vibration and oil analysis, to identify and resolve chronic equipment issues.
Partner with cross-functional teams to manage spare parts inventory and support shop floor 5S standards.
