Job summary

Manpower Group (USA) is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join the Manufacturing Engineering team in Detroit, MI. This role focuses on supporting Engine and Axle Assembly operations with a hands-on, problem-solving approach.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or ME Tech (or 8+ years equivalent) and has at least 3 years in manufacturing assembly. Strong communication and troubleshooting skills are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology, or 8+ years of equivalent experience.
Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience in an assembly environment.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, assembly methods, and equipment maintenance practices.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with production teams, supervisors, and skilled trades.

Responsibilities

Provide maintenance engineering support for Engine Assembly operations and Axle Assembly areas as needed.
Troubleshoot tooling, equipment, and production issues to minimize downtime and support daily operations.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance procedures for existing and new equipment.
Review drawings and BOMs to establish recommended spare parts lists and support equipment reliability.
Lead tooling, process improvement, and product change implementation projects.
