Job summary

Innophos in Nashville, TN, is seeking a Maintenance Engineer III to lead predictive and preventive maintenance programs across plant utilities, with focus on reliability and ROI. You will drive capital projects, manage spare parts, and mentor maintenance staff while coordinating with production teams.

The role requires expertise in boilers, air compressors, cooling towers, and strong problem‑solving, budgeting, and written communication skills to support continuous improvement and safe

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering preferred.
• 5+ years of engineering experience in chemical or food processing industries.
• Expert working knowledge of production equipment and chemical processes.
• Knowledge of industrial maintenance techniques (PM, PDM, CMMS, RCM, TPM).
• Ability to coordinate, train, and motivate hourly employees and outside contractors.
• Strong communication and technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement equipment reliability initiatives.
• Assist production to optimize plant productivity and quality.
• Technical resource for production personnel on plant utilities.
• Assist maintenance employees in their skills by giving technical advice and direction.
• Provide leadership implementing long‑term solutions to recurrent problems.
• Quickly provide troubleshooting and problem solving as difficulties arise.
• Review and optimize the predictive and preventive maintenance programs.
• Communicate daily with area coordinators.
• Position is on‑call 24/7 to support all aspects of maintenance and production.
• Implement improvement projects (scope, cost estimation, request capital money, supervision of fieldwork, commissioning).
• Investigate frequent equipment failures to help identify root cause and implement long‑term solutions.
• Oversee outside contractors in support of plant requirements.

Job description

The Maintenance Engineer III is responsible for plant predictive and preventive maintenance programs, equipment failure analysis, spare parts inventory improvements, plant lubrication programs, and infrastructure maintenance. Executes capital and expense projects to reduce cost, improve reliability and provide an expedited ROI. Oversees the operation and maintenance of the plant utilities including steam, compressed air, cooling water, and natural gas. Requires a thorough understanding of boilers, air compressors and cooling towers.

• Knowledge of capital money management and return on investment
• Strong teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues and support maintenance teams
