Job summary

Innophos is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team responsible for keeping production equipment operating safely, reliably, and efficiently. You will drive uptime, improve maintenance processes, and mentor technicians in a food-grade manufacturing environment.

You will oversee safety, quality, and instrument/electrical maintenance, plan major shutdowns, coordinate with contractors, and Champion continuous improvement projects while managing budgets and ensuring compliance with corporate

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering preferred.
  • At least 5 years of maintenance supervisory experience for non-engineers.
  • Knowledge of PM/PdM, CMMS, RCM, and TPM.
  • Strong safety practices and engineering principles.
  • Experience leading hourly employees and coordinating outside contractors.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience estimating, planning, scheduling, and managing maintenance work with budgets.

As a Maintenance Supervisor, you'll lead the maintenance team responsible for keeping our production equipment operating safely, reliably, and efficiently. In this role, you'll help maximize equipment uptime, improve maintenance processes, support continuous improvement initiatives, and develop a skilled team of technicians.

What You'll Do
Lead Safe Operations
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Lead employee safety training and conduct pre-job safety reviews.
  • Help maintain a safe work environment for employees and contractors.
Support Quality & Food Safety
  • Train employees on quality and food safety requirements.
  • Support and oversee the Management of Change (MOC) process.
  • Ensure maintenance activities meet food safety and quality standards.
Lead the Electrical & Instrumentation Team
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Schedule and coordinate Electrical & Instrumentation Technicians.
  • Assign daily work priorities and document completed maintenance activities.
  • Coach, develop, and support team members to achieve department goals.
Plan & Coordinate Maintenance
  • Plan major maintenance shutdowns and equipment outages.
  • Coordinate work with contractors and plant operations.
  • Serve as the Electrical Maintenance Planner to ensure maintenance work is properly planned and scheduled.
Drive Continuous Improvement
  • Lead maintenance and reliability improvement projects.
  • Investigate equipment failures and identify long-term solutions.
  • Manage contractor performance and support capital and maintenance projects.
Collaborate Across the Plant
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, and other departments to meet production goals.
  • Support additional maintenance and plant initiatives as needed.
What We're Looking For
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering preferred.
  • Alternative Experience: Candidates with a skilled trades background (Electrician, Instrumentation Technician, Millwright, etc.) are encouraged to apply. If you do not have an engineering degree, you should have at least 5 years of maintenance supervisory experience.
  • Maintenance Expertise: Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance (PM/PdM), CMMS, Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
  • Safety Focus: Strong understanding of industrial safety practices and engineering principles.
  • Leadership: Experience leading, coaching, and developing hourly employees and coordinating outside contractors.
  • Communication: Strong verbal communication and technical writing skills.
  • Planning & Organization: Experience estimating, planning, scheduling, and managing maintenance work while controlling budgets and costs.
  • Teamwork: A collaborative leadership style with the ability to build strong relationships across Operations, Engineering, and Maintenance.

You'll help ensure production equipment and facility systems are available to support a 24/7 operation while balancing safety, reliability, maintenance priorities, contractor support, and budget expectations.
