Job summary

Essentia Health is seeking a maintenance technician to perform routine and preventative maintenance on a medical campus in Virginia, including boilers, HVAC, fire safety, and patient-care equipment.

The role requires a boiler license (or ability to obtain) and 3+ years in maintenance, with driving eligibility and potential supervision of teammates where appropriate. Day/evening/night shifts and rotating weekends are described.

Qualifications

• 2-year vocational school or 2-year apprenticeship or the equivalent.
• 3 years of experience in a maintenance role.
• Current Class "Special" Boilers License or ability to obtain within 6 months as required by the facility or holds a higher certification (1st/2nd class) within 18 months of hire.
• Must meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to Essentia Health's insurer.

Job Description:

Responsible for general maintenance in a medical specialty campus.

Education Qualifications:

Provides routine and preventative maintenance including inspection, maintenance, and complex repairs on various systems such as pressure boilers, basic HVAC systems, fire safety systems, emergency generators, and patient care equipment. May provide emergency repairs and perform additional duties as assigned.

Position may provide general work direction, within the scope of their license, to assigned team members.

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

Minimum of a 2 year vocational school or a 2-year apprenticeship program or the equivalent

OR

3 years of experience in a maintenance role

Current Class \"Special\" Boilers License or ability to obtain within 6 months as required by the facility or holds a higher certification (such as 2nd Class B or C, 1st class license or chief A, B or C boiler operator’s license license) or higher (such as 1st class license or chief A, B or C license) within 18 months of hire or transfer.

Must meet the driving requirements and criteria acceptable to Essentia Health's insurer.
