Job summary

Feather Falls Casino is seeking an Engineer 1 in Maintenance to perform custodial and repair tasks, including plumbing, carpentry, electrical and painting work to keep facilities in top condition.

Under supervision, the role handles routine maintenance and basic repairs, with safety and reporting responsibilities. Starting wage is $19.00 hourly, with full-time benefits including health insurance, 401K match, and PTO.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Experience with basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical and painting tasks is preferred.
  • Maintenance duties include housekeeping-related tasks beyond standard custodial work.

Responsibilities

  • Performs basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical and painting tasks to maintain and repair the facility.
  • Performs routine manual tasks such as replacing air filters, assembling furniture, hanging items, and changing bulbs.
  • Performs custodial tasks as needed beyond housekeeping scope and reports suspicious activity per policy.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Engineer 1

Department: Maintenance

Reports To: Director of Maintenance and Facilities

Starting Wage: $19.00 to start.

Summary

Under general supervision, performs a variety of custodial and repair tasks in the maintenance of buildings and facilities: performs other related work as required. This class differs from that of Laborer in that incumbents perform more difficult and more diverse maintenance tasks in addition to general labor duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performs basic plumbing, carpentry, electrical and painting tasks to maintain and repair the facility, such as replacing or adjusting plumbing fixtures, adjusting doors, repairing fixtures and furniture, replacing electrical fixtures, repairing electrical outlets, patching and painting interior and exterior walls, adjusting heating and ventilation systems, etc.
  • Performs routine manual tasks as requested, such as replacing air conditioning filters, assembling furniture and equipment, hanging pictures or shelves, changing light bulbs, etc.
  • Performs general custodial tasks not performed by Housekeeping, such as any cleaning inside the casino over 6’ in height, pressure cleaning of kitchen equipment, and exterior cleaning of casino grounds.
  • Recording and reporting any suspicious activity as defined by the Bank Secrecy Act (Title 31) and Feather Falls Casino Internal control policy Suspicious Activity Compliance Program.

Education and/or Experience

High school graduate or equivalent and at least one year of general building repair and maintenance, or the equivalent of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate with other employees.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Certification – Carpenter/Woodworking certificate desirable.

Class B Gaming License

Requires correct use of back brace, safety goggles, and gloves, etc., lifting techniques and ladder or hydraulic lift equipment.
