Blue Lake Casino is seeking a Maintenance Technician to assist in repairing and maintaining machinery, equipment, building systems, and plumbing and electrical networks. This role emphasizes safety, preventative maintenance, and the ability to read and interpret manuals.

The technician will work with various teams, support special events, and ensure facilities are safe and operational. A valid California driver’s license and tribal gaming license are required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must maintain a valid and active Blue Lake Tribal Gaming Commission license.
  • Must maintain a valid California State Driver's License.

Responsabilités

  • Assists in repairing and maintaining machinery, equipment, physical structures, and plumbing and electrical systems.
  • Performs aesthetic preventative maintenance (APM).
  • Dismantles machines, replaces defective parts and motors, and adjusts feed mechanisms.
  • Cleans and lubricates machine parts; replaces or repairs belts.
  • Patches or replaces plaster, paints walls/ceilings/trim; maintains cleanliness of work area.
  • Assists with minor maintenance for other casino departments and special events.
  • Replaces light bulbs and electrical motors; changes HVAC filters; uses thermostats.

SUMMARY

Assists in repairing and maintaining machinery, equipment, physical structures, and plumbing and electrical systems of industrial establishment. Performs aesthetic preventative maintenance (APM) by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists appropriate personnel in dismantling machines or equipment, replaces defective parts and motors, and adjusts feed mechanisms.
  • Cleans and lubricates machine parts such as shafts, pulleys, gears, and bearings.
  • Replaces or repairs machine belts.
  • Removes dust, dirt, grease, and waste material from machines.
  • Paints machines or equipment to prevent corrosion.
  • Assists appropriate personnel in bending, cutting, and threading pipe, cuts openings in walls, ceilings, and floors for pipes, and seals pipe joints with sealing compound.
  • Cuts out and joins parts for worktables, benches, shelves and other furnishings.
  • Patches or replaces plaster or plasterboard and paints walls, ceilings, and trim of building.
  • Clears clogged drains, and may repair or replace plumbing fixtures.
  • Cleans work area, tools, and equipment.
  • Assists other casino departments with minor maintenance and preparation for special events.
  • Repair or replace light bulbs and electrical motors.
  • Changes HVAC filters and knowledge of use of thermostats.
  • Other duties as assigned by management, including any supervisor, manager, or executive.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or Team Members of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • While employed, must maintain a valid and active Blue Lake Tribal Gaming Commission License.
  • While employed, must maintain a valid California State Drivers License.

The Team Member is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
