Job summary

Drift Nashville is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to maintain guest rooms, public spaces, and building systems, ensuring an exceptional guest experience. The role emphasizes proactive problem-solving, teamwork, and timely response to issues in a bustling hotel environment.

Responsibilities include preventative maintenance, plumbing/electrical/HVAC repairs, inspections, and collaboration with vendors.

Qualifications

  • Previous maintenance, engineering, facilities, or building operations experience.
  • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical systems, and general building maintenance.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and identify practical solutions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Reliable attendance and a positive, team‑oriented attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance throughout the hotel and grounds.
  • Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, and general building systems.
  • Respond to guest and team member maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Complete routine inspections of guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of‑house areas.
  • Perform painting, carpentry, drywall, and general repair work as needed.
  • Maintain pool, spa, and outdoor areas as assigned.
  • Assist with property improvement projects and capital upgrades.
  • Support room turns and ensure guest rooms meet brand standards.
  • Assist with furniture, fixture, and equipment installations and repairs.
  • Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors when necessary.
  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
  • Identify and address potential safety hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building, fire, and safety regulations.
  • Participate in emergency response and property preparedness efforts as needed.

Maintenance Engineer

This role is responsible for the day‑to‑day maintenance, repair, and upkeep of guest rooms, public spaces, building systems, and back‑of‑house areas. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem‑solver who takes pride in their work, responds quickly to issues, and enjoys working in a collaborative hospitality environment.

What You'll Do
Property Maintenance & Repairs
  • Perform preventative maintenance throughout the hotel and grounds
  • Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, mechanical, and general building systems

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and lift throughout the workday
  • Ability to safely lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to use ladders and work at heights when necessary
