Job summary
Asama Coldwater Manufacturing in Coldwater, MI seeks an experienced Maintenance Engineer to support CNC machining operations, improve equipment reliability, and drive automation initiatives.
You will troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems, install and maintain production equipment, and collaborate with engineering and production teams to reduce downtime and boost throughput.

- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment issues.
- Support installation, startup, repair, and maintenance of production equipment.
- Investigate equipment failures and recommend permanent corrective actions.
- Improve machine reliability and reduce downtime.
- Analyze production processes to improve throughput and reduce scrap.
- Develop process improvements and process controls.
- Recommend equipment and system modifications.
- Support new equipment installations and production launches.
- Evaluate manufacturing methods and recommend improvements.

As our Maintenance Engineer, you'll support machining operations by improving equipment reliability, increasing production efficiency, and solving technical problems.
Your responsibilities include:
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical equipment issues
- Support installation, startup, repair, and maintenance of production equipment
- Investigate equipment failures and recommend permanent corrective actions
- Improve machine reliability and reduce downtime
- Analyze production processes to improve throughput and reduce scrap
- Develop process improvements and process controls
- Recommend equipment and system modifications
- Support new equipment installations and production launches
- Evaluate manufacturing methods and recommend improvements
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings
- Support engineering projects using CAD software when needed
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and engineering teams
- Assist with cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives
- Use structured problem-solving methods including:
- 5 Why
- 5W2H
- Corrective Action
- Reduce scrap
- Support company safety initiatives
- Experience maintaining manufacturing equipment
- Welding and fabrication experience
