Position Summary

This Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the facility, including major mechanical systems, fire & life‑safety equipment, grounds, parking, lighting systems, plumbing, kitchen equipment, electrical controls and other equipment comprising the physical structure and appurtenant infrastructure. The role includes upholding the core values of Fun, Friendly and Community, ensuring cleanliness, safety, aesthetics, and guest satisfaction, complying with all training and licensure requirements, and supporting the general upkeep of the facilities.

General Accountabilities

• Be a motivated individual with resources to accomplish established objectives.
• Execute and influence quality guest service and profitability.
• Follow department standards, guidelines and objectives to maintain efficient operations of the Kansas Crossing Facility.
• Assist in managing utility expenses through operational efficiencies.
• Execute maintenance programs and maintain service records as required.
• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in mechanical or electrical systems such as HVAC, plumbing, kitchen, and other equipment throughout the property.
• Maintain the building exterior and curb appeal for snow removal, lawn care, painting, and other actions as directed.
• Execute all routine maintenance and operation of the physical structure of the casino, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems and any other related equipment that contributes to the safe and effective operation of the facility.
• Ensure work processes are OSHA and HazCom compliant, including compliance with all departmental MSDS sheets and procedures.
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, providing clear communication to the Chief Engineer on the details of work performed.
• Answer radio or other communications regarding complaints/concerns and take appropriate action from all KCC departments.
• Work efficiently and guarantee maximum productivity and guest satisfaction with minimal supervision.
• Attend all required meetings to obtain and disseminate pertinent information.
• Evaluate the condition of furniture, fixtures, décor, etc., which requires continuous visual inspection of public areas. Make repairs as needed or as directed by the Director of Security & Facilities or the Chief Engineer.
• Maintain and operate all equipment safely and at the recommendation of all standard operating practices set forth by the equipment manufacturer or the Facility Standard Operating Procedures.
• Conduct oneself in a gracious, kind and warm manner that creates a sense of fondness, as well as a professional, courteous and responsive demeanor which reflects positively on the company and its core values of Fun, Family and Community.
• Participate on the property Safety Committee as assigned.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned by department and/or Company Management.

Working Conditions

Must have the ability to accurately calculate figures and amounts and perform mathematical functions applicable to business needs; interpret a variety of technical and mathematical formulas; follow written, oral, diagrammatic or scheduled instructions; and parse instructions delivered in various formats. Be flexible to work all shifts, including holidays, nights, weekends and overtime as business needs dictate. Be physically mobile with reasonable accommodations, capable of pushing, pulling, carrying and lifting up to 50 lbs., and able to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing tasks in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
