Job summary

Healthcare Realty Trust, a premier owner-manager-developer of medical office buildings, seeks an experienced on-site Maintenance Engineer in the Columbus area. Five years of facilities maintenance experience and a strong background in building automation, electrical systems, and life safety are essential.

Must read blueprints, be tech-savvy, and capable of lifting up to 50 pounds. The role includes on-call rotations about every five weeks and travel within the Columbus metro area.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years' experience in facilities maintenance.
• Thorough understanding of building automation, electrical systems and life safety.
• Ability to read blueprints for repairs and upgrades.
• Comfort with using MS Office and email for work orders.
• Must be self-sufficient, organized and a strong team player.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and building upkeep (pressure washing, leaf blowing, etc.).
• Conduct emergency and preventive maintenance in a timely manner.
• Update maintenance and repair records.
• Complete assigned work orders promptly.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Minimum of Five (5) years' experience in facilities maintenance with thorough understanding of Building Automation Systems, electrical systems, controls, condensing boilers, package rooftop HVAC, variable air volume systems, chemical treatment, emergency generation equipment, plumbing, transfer switches and life safety systems.
• Performs assigned repairs; building upkeep duties as needed (periodic pressure washing and leaf blowing as needed); emergency and preventive maintenance in a timely manner.
• Completes maintenance and repair records as required.
• Completes assigned work orders in a timely manner.
• Basic skills with Microsoft Office.
• Uses personal computer and smart phone for work order system and email.
• Position requires excellent organization, verbal, written and multi-tasking skills.
• Must be able to read blueprints.
• Takes ownership of work, is flexible, and focuses on creating a positive and welcoming impression.
• Must be self-sufficient, team player.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders.
