Advanced Search Group seeks a Maintenance Engineer IV to lead predictive and preventive maintenance programs, analyze equipment failures, and drive reliability initiatives in a chemical or food processing plant. The role includes overseeing plant utilities, budgeting, and capital projects to improve ROI.

The position requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering and 7+ years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in chemical or food processing industries.
• Expert knowledge of production equipment and chemical processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement equipment reliability initiatives.
• Assist production to optimize plant productivity and quality.
• Technical resource for production personnel on plant utilities.
• Assist maintenance employees in their skills by giving technical advice and direction.
• Provide leadership implementing long term solutions to recurrent problems.
• Quickly provide troubleshooting and problem solving as difficulties arise.
• Review and optimize the predictive and preventive maintenance programs.
• Communicate daily with area coordinators.
• Position is on-call 24/7 to support all aspects of maintenance and production.
• Oversee outside contractors in support of plant requirements.
• Investigate frequent equipment failures to help identify root causes and implement long-term solutions.

The Maintenance Engineer IV is responsible for plant predictive and preventive maintenance programs, equipment failure analysis, spare parts inventory improvements, plant lubrication programs, and infrastructure maintenance. Executes capital and expense projects to reduce cost, improve reliability and provide an expedited ROI. Oversees the operation and maintenance of the plant utilities including steam, compressed air, cooling water, and natural gas. Requires a thorough understanding of boilers, air compressors and cooling towers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement equipment reliability initiatives
• Assist production to optimize plant productivity and quality
• Technical resource for production personnel on plant utilities
• Assist maintenance employees in their skills by giving technical advice and direction

Projects:

• Implement improvement projects (scope, cost estimation, request capital money, supervision of fieldwork, commissioning)
• Investigate frequent equipment failures to help identify root cause and implement long-term solutions
• Oversee outside contractors in support of plant requirements

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree Mechanical or chemical engineering preferred
• 7 or more years of engineering experience in chemical or food processing industries

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

• Expert working knowledge of production equipment and chemical processes
• Knowledge of industrial maintenance techniques (PM, PDM, CMMS, RCM, TPM)
• Understanding of good engineering and safety practices
• Ability to coordinate, train, and motivate hourly employees and outside contractors
• Good communication and technical writing skills
• Ability to estimate, plan, schedule, and complete work orders in a timely fashion
• Ability to manage budget and to estimate costs related to various projects
• Knowledge of capital money management and return on investment
• Strong teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues and support maintenance teams
