You will respond to maintenance requests, perform routine preventative maintenance, and document work orders. On-call availability and flexible shifts are required to support hotel operations.

Qualifications

• Experience performing hotel maintenance tasks or in a hospitality setting.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair basic electrical and mechanical issues.
• Comfort with preventative maintenance and completing work orders promptly.

Responsibilities

• Respond to guest and employee maintenance requests in a timely manner.

El Capitan Hotel in Merced is hiring for a Maintenance Engineer.

A luxurious translation of a road trip pit stop, El Capitan Hotel is a boutique hotel in downtown Merced, California. On the road to Yosemite, the hotel features 114 guest rooms, a historic theater, and four distinct dining experiences, all reflective of the surrounding Central Valley community.

Job Overview:

• Responds to guest and employee requests for maintenance services (e.g. plunging toilet, television not functioning) in a timely and efficient manner.
• Troubleshoots and repairs basic malfunctions in electrical/mechanical systems (e.g. HVAC, plumbing) and other hotel equipment.
• Performs preventative maintenance assignments.
• Performs maintenance repairs to guestrooms, public areas and administrative offices. Repairs may include plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling, ventilation, furnishings and fixtures, painting, light carpentry, door and window repairs.
• Completes work order requests in a timely manner.
• Maintains all mechanical areas in an orderly and clean condition.
• Inspects public areas for any issues (e.g. burned-out light bulbs, leaks) correcting noted issues immediately.
• Maintains building exterior (e.g. picking up trash from landscaped areas, leaf blowing sidewalks, painting).
• Assists occasionally with security issues.
• Completes all maintenance logs.
• Attends all scheduled employee meetings and training sessions.
• Ability to work any shift or day scheduled, and if an issue arises be available on-call.
