Job summary

KRIV/KTXH FOX 26 in Houston, TX seeks a full-time Maintenance Technician to install, operate and maintain broadcast and non-broadcast video/audio equipment. The role covers SMPTE ST 2110 networks, data networks, and various control systems.

You will collaborate with engineering, perform system design/test/documentation, and handle routine repairs while upholding safety and quality standards. The position requires adaptability to shift hours and physical tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering or IT preferred, or four (4) years of equivalent industry experience.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems and maintain focus for extended periods.
• Strong working knowledge of broadcast and network systems; experience with RF and fiber optic workflows preferred.
• Ability to work in a proactive environment and anticipate operational needs.
• Self-starter who works effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
• Flexible, detail-oriented, organized, and an effective communicator.
• Prior experience in television or radio broadcast engineering or similar technical disciplines preferred.
• Ability to climb ladders up to 20 feet, lift up to 40 pounds, and work in confined spaces.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as operational needs require.

Fox TV StationsFOX Television Stations owns and operates 29 full power broadcast television stations in the U.S. These include stations located in 14 of the top 15 largest designated market areas, or DMAs, and duopolies in 11 DMAs, including the three largest DMAs (New York, Los Angeles and Chicago). Of these stations, 18 are affiliated with the FOX Network. In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. These stations leverage viewer, distributor and advertiser demand for the FOX Network’s national content.

JOB DESCRIPTION

KRIV/KTXH FOX 26, a FOX-owned and operated duopoly in Houston, Texas (DMA 6), is seeking a full-time, customer service-focused and team-oriented Maintenance Technician.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, operating, and maintaining video, audio, and other television broadcast and non-broadcast equipment. This includes data networks (including SMPTE ST 2110 standards), production control switchers, audio mixers, automation systems, routing switchers, server-based record and play-out systems, non-linear editors, encoders, decoders and multiplexers, newsroom computer systems, media streaming systems, and RF transmission equipment.

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $47.13-48.13 per hour. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
