Job summary

Evanston Regional Hospital is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to perform a range of maintenance tasks including plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, electrical work, and basic machine servicing. The role reports to a supervisor and requires attention to safety, effective communication, and the ability to work under pressure in a hospital environment.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of maintenance experience. Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 2 years of maintenance experience preferred.
• Knowledge of safety procedures in maintenance areas.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance tasks across plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, electrical, and related areas.
• Assist with vehicle servicing and machine servicing as needed; report issues to supervisor.

Description

Primary Responsibility: The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for performing maintenance service and repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing, electrical, or vehicle servicing. Position relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, performing a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Skills & Abilities: Is knowledgeable in procedures and safety measures in area(s) of maintenance. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and be able to interact professionally with diverse population Possess attention to detail and demonstrate good organization skills Demonstrate emotional maturity and ability function effectively under stress Demonstrate the ability to maintain effective, positive working relationships Education, Licenses/Certifications, and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent At least 2 years of experience in the maintenance or a related area Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Must be able to take call on rotation for maintenance and security.
