Job summary

thyssenkrupp Forged Technologies seeks a Maintenance Engineer to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair production equipment to improve machine availability and efficiency. You will address downtime, perform preventive maintenance, and support reliability initiatives.

The role requires strong mechanical skills, CNC, hydraulic/pneumatic knowledge, and documentation of processes and spare parts in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field or 6+ years of technical manufacturing experience.
• 3+ years in manufacturing maintenance/engineering preferred.

Job description

thyssenkrupp integrated its Forging & Machining and Undercarriage businesses to start the new business unit Forged Technologies. With roughly 7,000 employees at 18 production sites in seven different countries, thyssenkrupp Forged Technologies has sales of over one billion euros and operates over 50 forging press lines and more than 150 machining and assembly lines in seven countries. The product portfolio includes undercarriage systems for heavy machinery as well as crankshafts, connecting rods, pistons, chassis products, transmission systems and rotor shafts for the automotive industry.

Salary range based on experience/education: $70,000 - $85,000 / annually

Shift: 2-2-3 rotation, 5a-5pm

The Maintenance Engineer reports to the Senior Controls Engineer and is responsible for hands-on troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining production equipment to improve machine availability, reliability, and efficiency. The position systematically addresses equipment issues, performs corrective and preventive maintenance, and supports reliability improvement activities.

• Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing production equipment (hands on), including corrective and preventive maintenance
• Addressing and analyzing downtime occurrences and equipment failures
• Planning and implementation of preventive and/or predictive maintenance activities
• Improving equipment reliability and repair quality
• Create and maintain documentation related to repair quality and work instructions
• Evaluating and completing P.Ms on machinery
• Coordinate and participate in maintenance activities in assigned areas, providing technical support and hands-on assistance as required.
• Support the development of an effective spare parts inventory system
• Champion for documentation creation and control to improve repair quality and reduce time for repair on planned and unplanned activities

Qualifications:

• Education/Credentials/Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Technology related field, or 6+ years of experience in a technical field in a manufacturing environment
• Length of Experience
  • Previous experience (3+) in manufacturing in a maintenance or engineering role preferred.
• Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
  • Ability to effectively use mechanical measurement, alignment, hydraulic/pneumatic diagnostic, and condition-monitoring tools to troubleshoot, inspect, and evaluate industrial machinery.
  • Automated manufacturing equipment
  • CNC experience is desired
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Knowledge of mechanical power transmission systems, spindles, bearings, ball screws, guideways, couplings, pumps, and related machine components
  • Ability to use mechanical measurement and diagnostic tools
  • Excellent oral and written language ability
  • Ability to learn and apply maintenance best practices
