Job summary

Schulte Hospitality Group is seeking an energetic Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Waterstone Boca Raton. This hands-on role covers grounds, public areas, and guest rooms, with preventative maintenance and timely response to requests.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in hotel maintenance, strong HVAC, plumbing, electrical and carpentry knowledge, and a proactive mindset to uphold our service-focused culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years in hotel maintenance; three years preferred.
• Experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical and carpentry is required or strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees property grounds, public areas and guest rooms.
• Performs preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns in hotel accommodations.
• Check fixtures, lighting, signs; maintain spare parts and bulbs.
• Responds to maintenance orders in a timely manner.
• Fulfills work orders promptly.
• Performs daily rounds; identifies and reports problems.
• Other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversees the property grounds, public areas and hotel guest rooms
• Conducts preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns in hotel accommodations
• Check fixtures, lighting, and signs for proper operation; maintain an adequate supply of spare parts and light bulbs
• Responds to maintenance orders in a timely manner
• Fulfills work orders in a timely manner
• Completed daily rounds, identifying and reporting problems
• Perform various other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of three (2) years in a hotel maintenance position preferred
• Preferred but not necessary, one (1) year of college or trade school equivalent in a mechanical, electrical, and/or technical disciplines
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and general carpentry

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Basic math skills
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Ability to exceed expectations of guests and team members
