Job summary

Alliant Energy is seeking a Journeyman-level electrical technician to support generation facilities and high voltage substations in Wisconsin. You will perform electrical and basic mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting and calibration of plant control systems, while ensuring safety standards and reliable operations.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, completion of an apprenticeship program, and journey-level electrical trade experience.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to solve problems.
• Knowledge of non-structural welding theory and practice.
• Ability to work from blueprints, diagrams, drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with steam plant cycles and operations.

Responsibilities

• Performs electrical and basic mechanical troubleshooting, maintenance, repair, cleaning and construction of equipment and systems at the generation facility.
• Maintains electrical equipment at an electric generating station and high voltage substation.
• Maintains and calibrates basic plant control systems and related activities.
• Gathers, interprets and logs data from equipment diagnostics; records documentation.
