Job summary

Swiftel Communications, Inc. in Brookings, SD is seeking a Maintenance Electrician I to perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical equipment and metering systems in Utility facilities.

The role reports to the Electric Supervisor, is non-exempt, with responsibilities including meter testing, AMI system support, and wiring of motors and control devices, with adherence to safety practices and state licenses as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in electrical technology or related field or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of electrical theory, equipment, and control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Must possess a valid South Dakota Journeyman Electrician license.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment and metering systems.
• Program, test, and calibrate metering equipment; support AMI system and communications infrastructure.
• Maintain meter testing and calibration routines; coordinate with Billing Department.
• Wire motors, relays, contactors, thermostats; maintain motor control circuits and associated equipment.
• Support SCADA hardware/software upgrades and maintenance; ensure safe practices.
