Job summary

Brookings Municipal Utilities in Brookings, SD seeks a Maintenance Electrician I to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment and metering systems in utility facilities.

Under supervision, you will work with AMI and SCADA systems, perform wiring of motors and control devices, and assist with meter testing and calibration. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and an associate degree or equivalent training in electrical technology.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in electrical technology or related field or equivalent training/experience.
• Thorough knowledge of electrical theory and mechanical applications.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
• Valid driver's license required; CDL with air brakes or ability to obtain within 180 days.
• SD Journeyman Electrician license required.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical equipment and metering equipment.
• Program, install, and test single- and polyphase meters and metering devices.
• Assist with AMI system operation and SCADA upgrades/maintenance.
• Coordinate meter data with Billing Department.
• Maintain electrical systems in utility facilities and related plants.
