Position Summary
We are seeking a Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) Mechanic to join our expanding Maintenance team in Portland. The LME is responsible for electrical maintenance on plant equipment, requiring good knowledge of shop equipment operation and maintenance, applying mechanical and electrical skills daily.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 4am - 12:30pm
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Read and update schematics/diagrams; follow electrical preventive maintenance programs.
- Maintain and repair automated equipment, hydraulic systems, compressors, refrigeration units, and other food processing equipment.
- Manage projects: scope work, order materials, complete on time and budget, pass electrical inspections.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues.
- Maintain lighting inside and outside the plant.
- Ensure equipment readiness for production start-up.
- Repair worn or damaged equipment.
- Perform equipment modifications and fabrication.
- Assist production, sanitation, and support groups as needed.
- Follow GMP and GSP standards, safety rules, and practices.
- Develop and implement maintenance procedures and innovations to improve efficiency, safety, uptime, and reduce costs.
- Lubricate equipment according to requirements.
- Perform other work as required.
Qualifications
- Must have a Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) license or be a journeyman electrician. Ability to pass exam within 90 days if not licensed in Oregon.
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 6 months manufacturing maintenance experience and 1+ year of maintenance experience.
- Ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, and test meters.
- Basic understanding of plumbing, boilers, compressors, hydraulic systems.
- Basic math skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Knowledge of HACCP and food safety.
- Physical ability to bend, squat, kneel, and lift up to 100 lbs.
