Maintenance Electrician - ATFN (Food Manufacture)

Position Summary

We are seeking a Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) Mechanic to join our expanding Maintenance team in Portland. The LME Mechanic will perform electrical maintenance on plant equipment, requiring good knowledge of operation and maintenance of shop equipment, applying mechanical and electrical skills in daily activities.

Schedule

Monday to Friday, 4am - 12:30pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Read and update schematics/diagrams and follow electrical preventative maintenance programs.
• Maintain and repair automated equipment, hydraulic systems, compressors, refrigeration units, and other food processing equipment.
• Manage projects from scope to completion, ensuring timely and budget-compliant work, including passing electrical inspections.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues.
• Maintain lighting and ensure equipment readiness for production start-up.
• Perform repairs, modifications, and fabrication of equipment.
• Assist other departments as needed, adhering to GMP and GSP standards.
• Follow safety practices and work efficiently to company standards.
• Understand and work with the MP2 system program.
• Develop maintenance procedures and innovations to improve safety, efficiency, and reduce costs.
• Lubricate equipment according to requirements.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Must have a Limited Maintenance Electrician (LME) license or be a journeyman electrician; must pass exam within 90 days if not licensed.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 6 months of manufacturing maintenance experience and 1 year of maintenance experience.
• Ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, and test meters.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, boilers, compressors, and hydraulic systems.
• Basic math skills required.
• Effective communication skills.
• Understanding of HACCP and food safety concepts.
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs., and perform bending, squatting, kneeling.
