Job summary

Tate Inc. is seeking a Maintenance Electrician to ensure reliability of electrical systems in a manufacturing environment.

You will diagnose issues, perform preventative and corrective maintenance on motors, drives, PLCs, and control panels, and read electrical schematics. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in electrical maintenance, a high school diploma or GED, and electrical certification or technical degree.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of motors, drives, PLCs, and control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documents.
• Basic computer skills for CMMS and documentation.

About the Role

The Maintenance Electrician ensures the reliability and performance of electrical systems and equipment within the manufacturing environment. This role diagnoses and resolves electrical issues to minimize downtime and support continuous production. The position plays a critical role in maintaining safe, compliant, and efficient operations.

What You'll Do

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, equipment, and production machinery.
• Diagnose electrical faults and implement timely repairs to minimize production downtime.
• Inspect electrical components, wiring, and control systems to identify issues and ensure proper functionality.
• Troubleshoot PLCs, motors, drives, and control panels as required.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and provide rapid electrical troubleshooting support to production teams.
• Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to resolve recurring electrical issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance, reliability, and energy efficiency.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and repair documentation.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to uptime and operational efficiency.
• Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and electrical safety standards.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards.
• Consistently wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with safety standards.
• Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or equipment risks promptly.

• Report on unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, incidents, and injuries, quality issues, compliance concerns, violations to the appropriate personnel without delay.

What You'll Bring

• High School Diploma or GED required; electrical certification or technical degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in electrical maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including motors, drives, PLCs, and control systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documents.
• Experience with preventative maintenance and electrical troubleshooting techniques.
• Basic computer skills for maintenance systems (CMMS) and documentation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
