Job summary

Amsted Automotive in Sterling Heights, MI, is seeking two experienced Maintenance Electricians: one on the 3:00 PM–11:00 PM shift with a 15% premium and one on the 7:00 AM–3:00 PM day shift. You will maintain presses and plant equipment to ensure safe, efficient production.

Responsibilities include wiring, motor/controls work, PMs, safety compliance, and lean initiatives. Requires mechanical/electrical know‑how and ability to lift up to 80 lbs.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of stamping presses, conveyors, CNCs, washers, assembly machines, various automation and related machinery
• Knowledge of pneumatics, lubrication, and hydraulics circuits
• Knowledge of basic electrical circuits and diagrams
• Knowledge of MiG and/or arc welding and use of cutting torches
• Ability to read hydraulic, pneumatic and lubrication schematics
• Ability to work with minimum supervision
• Familiarity with IATF16949, ISO 14001, and Q1 compliance criteria
• Ability to work overtime as required
• Ability to lift up to 80 pounds frequently
• Experience with computer, printer, calculator, and machinery control panels
• Physical stamina for long shifts including sitting/standing/bending

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintenance of presses and equipment throughout the plant
• Adjust/repair/replace motors, controls, and electrical equipment
• Support assembly and press departments; participate in press set-ups
• Follow safety procedures including lockout/tagout
• Perform PMs, corrective actions, and equipment improvements
• Document maintenance per work instructions and PM procedures
• Serve as wastewater handler with proper training
• Promote lean manufacturing principles
• Participate in Waste Elimination Team meetings
• Support company goals and objectives

Amsted Automotive in Sterling Heights is seeking two experienced Maintenance Electricians: 1 position for our afternoon shift (3:00 PM–11:00 PM) with a 15% shift premium as well one position on our day shift (7:00 AM–3:00 PM). This role is responsible for maintaining manufacturing equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, efficient operations.

What You'\u2019ll Do

• Repair and Maintenance of presses, and equipment throughout plant.


• Perform adjustments, repairs, or replacements on motors, controls, and other electric equipment.


• Responsible for supporting the team goals of the assembly, and press departments. Responsible for participation in press set-ups, teamwork, and continuous improvement of press set-up time.


• Adhere to all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tag out and electrical safe work practices.


• Responsible for all PM tasks, corrective actions, and improvements to assigned equipment.


• Required to follow all maintenance systems and proper documentation procedures as outlined in the work instructions, including preventive maintenance procedures, downtime recording procedures, and work order procedures.


• Serves in the capacity of wastewater handler commensurate with completion of proper training


• Adapt and promote lean manufacturing principals


• Active participant in the Elimination of Waste Team meetings


• Support the Company’s Goals and Objectives

What You'\u2019ll Need To Succeed
