Job summary

Volvo Construction Equipment in the United States is seeking a Maintenance Electrician to keep our manufacturing operations running safely and efficiently. You will troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain electrical and mechanical systems powering production equipment to maximize uptime.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or technical school, 3–5 years of industrial maintenance, NEC knowledge, and ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or technical school diploma required.
• Two-year technical degree or Journeyman Electrician license preferred.
• 3–5 years of industrial maintenance experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment.
• Experience maintaining electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in an industrial setting.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electricity, including 480V and 208/240V power distribution.
• Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
• Proficiency using electrical testing equipment and basic computer applications including Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain industrial electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, automation, and mechatronic systems.
• Install, maintain, and repair industrial electrical systems, including 480V three-phase and 208/240V power systems.
• Install disconnects, electrical panels, transformers, conduit, wiring, breakers, and associated electrical components.
• Diagnose and repair electrical equipment, including motors, transformers, control circuits, lighting systems, relays, switches, sensors, and electronic controls.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical power transmission systems, conveyors, overhead cranes, welders, pumps, compressors, machine tools, forklifts, and other production equipment.
• Maintain integrated automation systems including VFDs, motors, sensors, actuators, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and PLC-controlled equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, equipment alignments, installations, and precision repairs to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
• Read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• Ensure all work is completed in compliance with OSHA regulations, Lockout/Tagout procedures, NEC standards, and safety policies.
• Partner with production, engineering, and other departments to resolve equipment issues and support continuous improvement.

What You Will Do

As a Maintenance Electrician, you'll play a critical role in keeping our manufacturing operations running safely and efficiently. For this position, the base pay is set at $28.22 - $35.95/ hour, and where applicable, bonus eligible.
