PPG Industries in Alexander, AR is hiring an Electrician/Maintenance on 2nd shift (1pm-9:30pm) to repair, install, and maintain electrical systems and equipment. The role requires 3 years of industrial maintenance experience and familiar with electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

Starting pay is $32.00 per hour plus a $0.95 shift differential, with opportunities to improve efficiency and reliability across plant operations.

Formación

• 3 years of experience as an industrial electrical maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment.
• Journeyman Electrical Certification a plus, not required.
• Experience reading electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

• Conduct preventive maintenance to reduce equipment failures and extend machinery life.

• Maintain maintenance records and report on equipment status.
• Ensure safety regulations and company policies are followed.
• Assist in installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Participate in continuous improvement to enhance equipment reliability.

As an Electrician/Maintenance will work on repairing, constructing, installing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on industrial machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues and implement effective repairs.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to reduce equipment failures and extend machinery life.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
• Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance activities with minimal disruption.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and report on equipment status.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Support continuous improvement efforts in facilities repairs.
• Operate material handling equipment includes forklift, scissor lift, and SkyTrac safely and efficiently.
• Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills.
• Perform general facilities maintenance work.
• Fabricate parts for repairs and machine upgrades as needed.
• Communicate effectively with production team members and maintain clean work areas, including the maintenance shop.
• Ensure a safe work environment by following PPE and lock-out/tag-out procedures.

Qualifications

• Required 3 years of experience as an industrial electrical maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment. Journeyman Electrical Certification a plus, not required.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Good communication skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime or shifts if required.
• Experience operating forklift, scissor lift, and SkyTrac safely and efficiently.
• PLC experience is desired.
• Experience with VFD’s installation and setup is desired.
• Demonstrated sense of urgency in completing tasks.
• Willing to continue education through vendor or company supported programs to keep up with changing technologies.
• PLC experience is desired.
