Job summary

Rydon Maintenance is recruiting an experienced Building Maintenance Electrician to join our South East NHS maintenance and repair team. You will provide repairs to ambulance stations, make-ready centres and emergency response outposts across Sussex and Surrey, delivering planned and reactive electrical maintenance within healthcare facilities.

The successful candidate will hold NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations, be 18th edition, and have strong commercial electrical maintenance experience,

Qualifications

• Strong commercial electrical maintenance experience, ideally in FM or NHS environments.
• Must hold NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations and comply with 18th edition.
• Testing and Inspection 2391 is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Reactive maintenance and repairs including power and lighting faults.
• Planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) such as emergency lighting and fire alarm testing.
• Respond to breakdowns, fault-find and complete minor installations.
• Support with general building fabric repairs.
• Participate in a call-out rota with on-call standby and overtime paid per call out.

We now have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Building Maintenance Electrician to join our South East based NHS maintenance and repair. This team has been appointed to provide a planned and reactive maintenance service to our end client, a world class provider of emergency and urgent health care services in pre-hospital and out of hospital environments.

Rydon Maintenance is an expanding division of the Rydon Group and is successfully providing hard FM (facilities management services) to a variety of clients, predominantly within the healthcare sector. We provide hard FM services across England for a growing number of NHS Trusts. We look after more than 250 buildings on behalf of 20 NHS Trusts on a planned, responsive repairs and small works projects basis. We provide maintenance services to hospitals, primary care, ambulance and mental health trusts. Using the latest technology we ensure properties are well maintained, efficient and fit for purpose.

Job Purpose

As part of this Electrical Maintenance Engineer role, you will provide repairs to ambulance stations, make-ready centres and emergency response outpost centres across Sussex and Surrey.

Key responsibilities include

• Reactive maintenance and repairs such as power and lighting faults
• Planned preventative maintenance (PPM's) such as emergency lighting and fire alarm testing.
• Respond to breakdowns, fault-find and complete minor and small installations.
• You will also support with other general building fabric repairs
• There will also be the requirement to participate in a call-out rota to provide out-of-hours support. The normal working hours are 8am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday. When on-call you will receive a standby allowance and overtime paid per call out.

Experience Required

The successful candidate will have strong commercial electrical maintenance experience ideally gained working for an FM (Facilities Management) company. Experience working in an NHS or healthcare environment would also be beneficial, although candidates with experience gained in other commercial environments will also be considered (ie offices, hotels, education etc).
