Job summary

Randstad USA is assisting a packaging solutions manufacturer in Kalamazoo, MI to hire a Maintenance Electrician. The role focuses on repairing, maintaining, and installing wiring, motors, motor controls, PLCs, drives, transformers, lighting, and instrumentation across the facility.

NFPA 70 guidelines will guide safe electrical work, with strong emphasis on reliability and uptime. Ideal candidates have 3-5 years of troubleshooting experience with production equipment, experience with motors,

Qualifications

• 3-5 years troubleshooting experience with close support of production equipment.
• Experience with electric motors, drives, & PLCs.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Electrical Journeyman Card required.

Responsibilities

• Repairs, maintains, and installs wiring, motors, motor controls, PLCs, drives, transformers, lighting, and instrumentation.
• Maintains and repairs equipment including distribution control systems and power distribution equipment.
• Provides technical support using electrical testing equipment to locate malfunctions.
• Follows plans and NFPA 70 guidelines for safe electrical work.

Job description

Randstad is currently working with a manufacturing company that produces packaging solutions for their customers. Our client produces folding cartons, paperboard boxes, and cups using recycled or renewable paper. They work with big brands in food, drinks, and household goods to replace plastic with recyclable paper options. They are hiring Maintenance Electricians at their facitliy in Kalamazoo, MI.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of troubleshooting experience with close support of production equipment.
• Experience with electric motors, drives, & PLCs.

Education

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must have Electrical Journeyman Card

Salary

• $83,200 - $85,092 per year

Responsibilities

• Repairs, maintains, and installs wiring, motors, motor controls, PLC’s,AC/DC Drives, transformers, motors, generators, lighting,instrumentation, valvesand other electrical systems.
• Maintain and repair equipment including Distribute Control System, PLC Equipment, variable speed drives, level, pressure and temperature controls, automatic and pneumatic controls for flow pressure, turbine generators, breakers and power distribution equipment.
• Provides technical support by operating a variety of electrical testing equipment in locating and determining types of electrical malfunctions within the mill.
• Studies plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirement and sequence of repairs and/or installations.
• Application of NFPA Guidelines including publication 70 (National Electric Code).

The essential functions of this role include:

• manual lifting up to 50lbs
