Job summary

VALBRUNA in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Technician to inspect, repair, install, adjust, maintain, and wire electrical systems across the plant. The role covers control systems and devices, motors and drives, and building distribution, excluding high voltage equipment.

We require a high school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of related experience (Journeyman status helpful). Strong reading and writing ability, and the capacity to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Journeyman's status is helpful but not required.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos; communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, install, adjust, maintain, and wire electrical systems in the plant or assigned areas, excluding High Voltage Equipment.
• Utilize electronic, instrument, and control theory to install and maintain process control systems.
• Access PLC programs to diagnose issues and modify as needed.
• Interpret, analyze, and solve electrical problems.
• Plan electrical work from blueprints and coordinate with teams; use various tradesmen's tools.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Job description

Founded in 1925 and a leader in the production of Stainless Steels, Nickel Alloys and Titanium Long products, Valbruna is a private company with 2,800 employees and an annual output of approx. 250,000 tons of specialty steels. Production is primarily focused on Stainless Steels and Specialty Alloys, available in blooms and billets, ingots, round, square, flat, hexagonal and angle bars, wire rod, wire, reinforcement bars and threaded rods, with the expressed goal of satisfying the most sophisticated needs of the customer. To that end, Valbruna is constantly updating its production capabilities and experience.

• Inspect, repair, install, adjust, maintain, and wire all electrical, in the plant or assigned areas including basic building and office distribution, control systems and devices, motors and drives with the exception of High Voltage Equipment.
• Use electronic, instrument, and control theory to install, repair, and maintain all types of electronics, instrument, and process control systems, through the plant.
• AccessPLCs programs to diagnose issues and when necessary modify.
• Interpret, analyse and solve electrical problems.
• Plan electrical work from blueprints and reason through electrical problems.
• Use various tradesmen's tools in making electrical installations and repairs.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or a minimum of 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Journeyman's status helpful.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
