AmerCable, an ISO 9001:2015-certified cable manufacturer, invites applications for a Maintenance Electrician in El Dorado, AR. You will test, repair and maintain electrical equipment to keep plant operations safe and efficient.

The role requires reading blueprints and schematics, troubleshooting motor drives, and performing preventive maintenance with accurate documentation. A state boiler license is preferred and extended hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Two years of industrial electrical maintenance experience or related technical education.
• Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Ability to troubleshoot relay logic, AC/DC motors and drives.
• Ability to obtain a state boiler license.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work in non-climate-controlled environments and tight spaces.
• Ability to operate a forklift and move up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintain plant and office electrical systems and support installation of electrical control systems.
• Install, examine, replace and repair wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders and other components.
• Maintain, repair, test and install AC/DC motors, generators and hydraulic/pneumatic control systems.
• Troubleshoot industrial electrical and electronic control systems and related devices.
• Read drawings and code specifications to plan installations.
• Perform preventive maintenance and maintain accurate records.
• Install, calibrate industrial instrumentation as required.
• Install wiring in compliance with electrical code.
• Operate during off-shift rotations for boiler maintenance.

The Maintenance Electrician supports reliable plant operations by testing, repairing, and maintaining electrical equipment and systems throughout the facility. This role helps ensure building electrical equipment and components operate safely and efficiently while supporting broader Plant Engineering activities.

What Success Looks Like

• Maintain plant and office electrical systems and support the installation of electrical control systems.
• Install, examine, replace, and repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, and other electrical components.
• Maintain, repair, test, and install AC and DC motors, generators, and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial electrical and electronic control systems and related devices.
• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine the layout of industrial electrical installations.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Install, maintain, and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices as required.
• Install wiring and circuits in compliance with the National Electrical Code.
• Maintain low-pressure (125 PSI) and high-pressure (250 PSI) boilers as the sole operator during off-shift rotations.
• Identify and participate in resolving workplace hazards while complying with safety procedures and regulations.
• Support opportunities to reduce environmental impacts through waste reduction, recycling, and reducing pollution of air, water, soil, and resources.
• Support other Plant Engineering activities and perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring to the Role

• At least two years of industrial electrical maintenance experience or related technical education.
• Ability to read and use blueprints, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Ability to troubleshoot relay logic, AC and DC motors and drives, and other electrical components.
• Ability to obtain a state boiler license.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and good reading comprehension.
• Ability to work extended hours as needed, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment, at heights above ground level, and in small or tight spaces.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Ability to physically move materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
