Job summary

Transmission & Distribution World is seeking a Mechanic/Electrician for the 3rd shift (3 p.m. to 11 p.m., Monday–Friday) at Des Plaines, IL.

The role focuses on industrial maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repair of machines to ensure smooth plant operation. Qualified candidates will have 3+ years in industrial manufacturing, PLC troubleshooting, experience with Factory Talk or similar HMI software, and knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and high/low voltage systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in industrial manufacturing required.
• Ability to troubleshoot PLCs and I/O, and changeouts of programs.
• Experience with HMI software such as Factory Talk.
• Familiarity with sensors, limit switches, photo eyes, solenoids.
• Proficient in diagnosing electrical issues using a multimeter.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance and repair of machines.
• Troubleshoot emergency maintenance to support plant operations.
• Read, manage and execute work orders for maintenance.
• Occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
• Stand/walk and use hands, reach, stoop and kneel as required.

The Job You Will Perform:

Industrial maintenance/mechanic electrician will perform routine preventive maintenance and repair of machines.

• Troubleshoot emergency maintenance on machines as necessary to support plant operations.
• Troubleshoot industrial, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical failures
• Reads, manages and performs work orders of required maintenance services.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.

The Skills You Will Bring:

• 3+ years in industrial manufacturing
• PLC troubleshooting, inputs/outputs, and changeouts of programs
