Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. Rockport Works in Rockport, IN has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Electrical Technician who provides safe, timely electrical support, preventative maintenance, installation, service, and repair of plant equipment.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of related experience, an associate degree or electrical qualification, a strong safety and quality mindset, and the ability to read manuals and electrical drawings.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of related electrical maintenance experience.
• Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college in an electrical field.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow operating instructions and procedure manuals.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine electrical inspections and planned maintenance to keep equipment operational.
• Assess equipment condition and carry out appropriate repairs.
• Use CMMS to prepare maintenance requests with detailed information for timely repairs.
• Read electrical drawings/standards to inspect parts against purchase orders.
• Dismantle faulty equipment and install new or repaired parts.
• Attend outages, safety and staff meetings; collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams.

Location: Rockport, IN

Cleveland-Cliffs, Rockport Works, has an immediate opportunity for a Maintenance Electrical Technician. The Maintenance Electrical Technician is responsible for providing safe and timely electrical support, preventative maintenance, installation, service, and repair of electrical equipment, systems, and other components of industrial machinery throughout the plant.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Perform routine electrical inspections and planned maintenance to keep equipment operational.
• Assess the equipment operating condition and carry out appropriate repairs.
• Utilize knowledge and training to detect electrical equipment malfunction
• Inform and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose electrical problem or repair machine
• Utilize a CMMS system to prepare requests for maintenance services (RMS) providing detailed information to expedite repairs
• Utilize electrical drawings or standards to inspect parts to ensure they conform to purchase orders
• Dismantle defective machines and electrical equipment and installs new or repaired parts
• Attend outage, safety and staff meetings
• Operate mobile equipment.
• Work closely with Maintenance Mechanical Techs, Engineers, and Maintenance Planner
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Three to five years related experience and/or training
• Equivalent combination of education (Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college) and experience
• Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality
• Ability to read, understand, and follow operating instructions and procedure manuals
• Effective communication skills – verbal and written
• Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
• An electrical journeyman’s card and/or a minimum of an associate degree in an electrical industrial related field
