Job summary

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. is hiring a Shift Manager Electrical Maintenance & Control for the Middletown Works facility in Middletown, OH. You will supervise 5-20 Electronic Repairmen, lead system troubleshooting, and develop plans for equipment improvements.

The role requires PLC experience and willingness to support a 24/7 operating environment, including on-call responsibilities. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Technology and prior supervisory experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology preferred.
• 3 years of control systems and PLC experience preferred.
• Ability and willingness to support a 24/7 operating environment, including potential on-call nights and weekends.
• Experience as an electronic technician and supervisory experience over electronic technicians will also be considered.
• Management experience of electronic technicians in performing basic installation, troubleshooting, and calibration duties is preferred.
• Experience with troubleshooting electrical control systems.
• PLC troubleshooting experience, especially with Rockwell ControlLogix or Siemens PLC Series 5/7, is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervises the activities of 5-20 Electronic Repairmen to provide preventive and maintenance services.
• Lead and assist in system troubleshooting and repairs; determine root cause and implement solutions.
• Provide after-hours troubleshooting support to electrical technicians as needed.
• Maintain and improve electrical documentation; develop long/short-term equipment plans.
• Plan outages and upgrades; assist contractors during these plans.
• Communicate problems and solutions to Operations and EM&C managers.

Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opportunity for a Shift Manager Electrical Maintenance & Control at our Middletown Works facility.

Summary of Responsibilities

Supervises the activities of 5-20 Electronic Repairmen, for the purpose of providing preventive and maintenance services in a safe, efficient manner for their area of responsibility. Lead and assist in system troubleshooting and repairs. Work to determine the root cause of all electrical failures and develop/implement solutions to stop recurrence. Provide troubleshooting support to electrical technicians after normal working hours when needed. Maintain and improve electrical documentation. Develop long and short-term plans for equipment improvements. Plan equipment outages and upgrades. Assist maintenance service providers and contractors during these plans. Clearly communicate information relating problems and their solutions to Operations managers and EM& C managers.

Minimum Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology is preferred.
• 3 years of control systems and PLC’s experience is preferred.
