Job summary

NEW Cooperative, Inc. is hiring a skilled maintenance technician to inspect, repair, and upgrade facilities and equipment across multiple locations in Iowa. You’ll handle electrical, plumbing, remodeling, and fabrication tasks, and coordinate with contractors for building projects.

You must have strong problem-solving skills, be safety-focused, and ready to maintain inventory, operate a service truck, and respond to emergencies outside normal hours. CDL and electrical credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed to drive and insured.
• Class A CDL strongly recommended.
• Journeyman electrical certification strongly recommended.
• Master electrician certification encouraged.
• Willing to earn certifications as asked by supervisor.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical work and electrical codes.
• Proficient in welding, metalwork, carpentry and related hands-on skills.
• Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.
• Background in electrical, plumbing, construction, remodeling, concrete & wiring.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and repair buildings, equipment, and systems to ensure efficient operations.
• Maintain facilities across locations and perform needed repairs.
• Complete maintenance projects and respond to emergencies outside hours.
• Operate and maintain a service truck for maintenance calls.
• Assist supervisor with inventory in shop, office, and truck.
• Repair grain shoots, augers, dryers, and other facility parts, focusing on electrical work.
• Order repair parts and perform electrical, plumbing, construction, remodeling, wiring, and metal fabrication tasks.
• Assist with safety compliance inspections and ensure code adherence.
• Work with contractors on building projects and upkeep existing facilities.
• Troubleshoot issues and attend supervisor-requested trainings.
