Job summary

NEW Cooperative is seeking a maintenance technician to inspect and repair facilities, equipment, and systems across the grounds. You will manage maintenance projects, respond to emergencies, and support safety and compliance while coordinating with supervisors and vendors.

Responsibilities include electrical repairs, welding, carpentry, and metal fabrication, with a focus on reliable facilities operation. CDL is strongly advised and professional certifications are encouraged.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed and insured to drive.
• Class A CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) is strongly recommended.
• Journeyman electrical certification is strongly recommended.
• Master electrician certification is encouraged.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical work and electrical codes.
• Proficient in welding, metalwork, carpentry, and other hands‑on skills.
• Good problem solving and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and repair buildings, equipment, and systems for efficient operations.
• Perform maintenance projects and respond to maintenance emergencies.
• Maintain service truck and inventory; assist supervisor with stocking.
• Repair grain shots, augers, dryers, and facility components, especially electrical work.
• Place orders for repair parts and perform various repairs (electrical, plumbing, construction).
• Assist with safety inspections and ensure compliance with codes.
• Work with contractors on building projects and upkeep of facilities.
• Troubleshoot problems and participate in training to improve performance.
