Global Cellulose Fibers in Port Wentworth, GA is seeking a Maintenance E&I Co-Op for the Jan–May 2027 spring semester. The role offers hands-on experience supporting journeyman IEs in a heavy industrial setting and exposure to electrical, PLC, and HVAC tasks.

You must be enrolled in or recent graduate of a technical college, have a high school diploma or GED, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds, work at heights, and tolerate overtime, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Qualifications

  • Assist journeyman IEs in routine maintenance tasks.
  • Perform electrical, conduit, lighting, PLC, drive, and control valve calibration work.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work at heights.
  • Willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays.

The Job You Will Perform
  • This opportunity is for a Spring semester co-op from January to May 2027 and is for students currently enrolled or recently graduated from an accredited technical college
  • Observe and assist journeyman-level IEs in routine maintenance work including but not limited to:
    • Electrical circuit troubleshooting & repair
    • Conduit & wire installation
    • Lighting repair
    • PLC troubleshooting & repair
    • Drive troubleshooting & repair
    • Instrumentation & control valve calibration
    • Troubleshooting & repair
    • HVAC work
The Skills You Will Bring

  • Ability to safely operate equipment in a heavy industrial environment
  • Ability to utilize a computer for record keeping and documentation
  • Willing and able to work overtime, weekend, and holidays
