Job summary

Laurel Health Care Company seeks an experienced Maintenance Director to lead and hands-on manage the physical plant and essential equipment in a skilled nursing facility.

The role focuses on safe operation, regulatory compliance, and team coordination, with supervisory responsibilities across maintenance and possibly housekeeping and laundry. Strong technical knowledge and budgeting skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years physical plant and equipment experience in an institutional environment with supervisory or management responsibilities.
• Certification in HVAC, plumbing, electrical preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the physical plant and essential mechanical, electrical and SNF resident care equipment in safe operating condition.
• Demonstrate technical knowledge to diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions; coordinate and oversee activities of outside contractors and tradespeople.
• Manage departmental budget, ordering supplies and tracking inventory.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal laws, codes and regulations related to maintenance and life safety code.
• May supervise housekeeping and laundry departments.
