Woodson ISD is seeking a highly motivated and dependable individual to serve as Director of Maintenance & Transportation. This position plays a critical role in keeping our district’s facilities, grounds, and transportation operations safe, efficient, and ready to support student success.
Oversee and perform maintenance, repair, and improvement of district facilities, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and general upkeep.
Supervise and coordinate custodial, grounds, maintenance, and transportation staff.
Manage and maintain the district’s bus fleet, vehicle inspections, routes, and driver scheduling.
Ensure compliance with all safety codes, state regulations, and district policies related to facilities and transportation.
Coordinate preventative maintenance schedules and maintain accurate records of work orders, inspections, and safety checks.
Support district safety and security initiatives, including emergency preparedness and transportation safety.
Work collaboratively with administrators and staff to respond to facility and transportation needs in a timely and professional manner.
High school diploma or GED required; technical training or certifications in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical preferred.
Prior experience in maintenance, transportation, or facilities management strongly preferred.
CDL with school bus endorsement (or willingness to obtain).
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to supervise personnel and work effectively as part of a team.
Knowledge of safety codes and regulatory requirements.
Four-day school week schedule (Monday–Thursday).
