Job summary

Poplar Hill Health and Rehab in Warrenton, VA seeks a Maintenance Director to lead our facilities team in keeping the building safe, compliant, and well-maintained. You will supervise maintenance activities, coordinate with departments, and plan preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime.

Experience in maintenance or power plant work, plus knowledge of boilers, generators, and mechanical systems, is essential.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or Technical School certificate preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in maintenance and power plant work preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and allied machinery, as well as mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Responsibilities

• Organizes, directs, and supervises maintenance and repairs involving the buildings, equipment, and grounds
• Maintains the building in good repair, free of hazards, and in compliance with federal, state, and local laws
• Conducts monthly tests of fire alarm and emergency generator system, and keeps required records
• Performs routine maintenance checks, performs minor carpentry work, and paints as needed
• Coordinates maintenance and repair activities with other departments
• Orients and instructs all maintenance personnel and trains new employees on safety procedures
• Remains on-call for emergencies and attends department head meetings and required committees
• Orders all maintenance supplies through the purchasing agent or administrator
